Program Overview - Mechanical Engineering
Departmental Information
Mechanical Engineering deals with anything that moves, including the human body, a very complex machine. Mechanical engineers learn about materials, solid and fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, control, instrumentation, design and manufacturing to understand mechanical systems. Mechanical Engineering is perhaps the broadest and most diverse of engineering disciplines.

Mechanical engineers play a central role in such industries as Automotive, Aerospace, Biotechnology, Computers and Electronics, Energy Conversion, Environmental Control, Automation and Manufacturing Students get Hands-on Training and Skills in the maintenance of machine, welding, fitting and other vocational trades. Also students are trained in soft-skills and life-skills. The training and curriculum in general makes a student to adapt and adjust to the ever-changing industrial needs.
HOD Desk
The Mechanical Engineering is evergreen branch of engineering. Mechanical engineer is having huge scope in the field of Automobile, Design, Manufacturing, Thermal power, Aerospace, Marine, Energy sector also in Software. As the Pillai HOCL Campus is situated in Patalganga industrial sector (MIDC), the students are having nice exposure to the actual working conditions. The department has signed the MOU’s with various industries from Patalganga as well as from Panvel (Taloja).
The Institute runs, three year diploma program in Mechanical Engineering. The department is having well qualified and dedicated faculty with well developed laboratories. Every faculty is putting extra effort towards motivating the students in solving actual industrial problems by industrial visits and in-plant training and undertaking various projects. The students are also guided by various industry specialists and special trainers for various aspects of industry, personality development, entrepreneurship development etc. The department encourages the faculty for industrial training, induction training and other special trainings which ultimately benefits the students.
Vision
To establish a department of excellence in Mechanical Engineering encompassing Design, Manufacturing, Thermal science and Energy by providing high quality education and research to make the difference in the lives of students the community.
